Considering a graphics card upgrade.

Postby MrSk » Fri Oct 04, 2013 11:03 pm

Hey. Been playing PC games a bit again but mostly just old school style games but BF4 got me considering an upgrade.
I currently have the GTX 570.
Been looking at this price list http://www.pcdiy.com.au/ad/Pricelist.pdf
iam thinking that the 660-670 is in my price range but i guess i'd prefer to not spend $400-$500 ($300-$400) was what i was hoping for.
Guess i dont know if the 660 4GB would be better or if the 670 2GB would be? (for the price).
But iam not sure if its worth upgrading just for one game and not sure if iam going to get a Xbox one or PS4 yet.
Any suggestions, advice?
is it even worth spending that much to only upgrade that far? fuck spending $1200 on the titan though!

The 670 is a very very nice graphics card. Otherwise if you want a 660, look for the 660ti (660 alone is gimped afaik from memory)

hmm...

yeah thanks. Something to think about. Just that i keep playing old school style games like shadow run and might and magic and indie games like Garry's incident and even been playing a game on PS2 so iam not mega fussy with graphics lol.

I would say wait around for the new AMD 290, apparently it's cheap but top of the current gen range in terms of power, even if you don't want AMD it will drive the prices down of the Nvidia stuff I presume?

As I predicted: http://www.tweaktown.com/news/33295/nvi ... index.html
It may take a little while for the changes to trickle down to us though
